This immersive spectacle of art, light and sound transports the visitors in a forest of tree paintings, each illuminated sequentially to the sound of Birdsong, a beautiful song composed by Stretch Fowler, combining a meticulously captured soundscape of local birdsongs and an original melodic soundtrack.
Inspired by the fascinating intricacies and patterns of tree barks, I seek to recreate the multisensory experience of standing before majestic trees, surrounded by sounds that evoke cherished landscapes and memories.
These paintings, done from memory or from marks carefully garnered through bark rubbings and observation, are created following the ‘Orsini Light’ concept. The painted canvases are stretched on a specially designed wooden box or wrapped around a recycled tube and mounted onto a wooden branch collected locally by an arborist. The lamps are illuminated from within with low-energy LED lights. “Starting on a flat canvas with acrylic paints, I achieve the desired luminous effect by superimposing the layers of paint leaving gaps in the colour for the light to go through. These paintings come to life in this art, light and sound show”.
